Skills Development Focus of the Camp
Hitting
Practices rarely leave enough time for hitting. But this camp has plenty! It is the primary skills focus of the camp. With three instructor stations in two gyms your player will get plenty of time to develop their hitting skills.
Offense & Defense
Offensive & Defensive training will focus on tactics in hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning, sliding, offensive plays, short game defence and team strategies. These are skills that your player can bring back to their own team practices. This advanced training will be an excellent supplement to their existing team practices.
Pitching & Catching
Specialized training like pitching & catching is hard to find. This camp dedicates extra time for these players to develop a solid foundation of skill into their game. Younger players learn fundamental mechanics, while older players learn learn from "live practice" and game management strategies.
Camp Philosopy
This camp provides families with local options for improving their softball players performance on the field. The camp delivers training in areas of demand locally. The camp's goal is to raise the level of play locally by providing quality instruction to players of all ages and skill levels.
We also invite a number of current and future coaches to join us to learn new techniques under our qualified instructors. Coaches can then share these skills with their entire team during regular practices.
Lastly, we believe that building strong local softball teams requires a focus on fundamental skills at the U11 and U13 age. We introduce these players to fundamental skills and foster a love of the game to get them started on the right path in fastpitch softball.
To the right you can see how we plan to allocate the training time for this camp. Based on a total of 45 hours at the softball skills camp you can expect your player to receive this mix of training.
