The Brooklin Whitby Girls Softball Association, O/A The Whitby Eagles were founded in 1995. Our teams are made up of girls living within Durham Region, and beyond. We train year-round with an emphasis on providing our girls with an elite softball experience, professional coaching, mentorship and development, sportsmanship and of course fun. Tournament play, camps and clinics provide both college and professional exposure to all our players.

About Us

The Brooklin Whitby Girls Softball Association, O/A The Whitby Eagles were founded in 1995. We train year-round with an emphasis on providing our girls with an elite softball experience, professional coaching, mentorship and development, sportsmanship and of course fun. Tournament play, camps and clinics provide both college and professional exposure to all our players.

The Whitby Eagles are proud members of the Provincial Women's Softball Association and are a founding partner of the Central Eastern Women's Fastpitch League

Our teams play and travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area, across Ontario, Canada and in the USA to play competitive fastpitch games. Our season and tournaments begin in February and conclude in August.

We regularly have multiple teams participating in Provincial and National championships and have many of our girls playing for Team Ontario, Team Canada, NCAA Division I, II and III in the United States and Canadian Universities and Colleges.

Player Development

The Whitby Eagles Association LTPDM is designed to help coaches in the development of players of all skill levels.

The LTPDM is not a guarantee of individual excellence, but rather a guide to developing players to maximize their skills and enjoyment of the game. While ensuring those players who have the drive and talent have the necessary fundamental foundation to achieve personal success at the highest level.

There are 5 levels of Player development in the LTPDM:
Intro- A skill is introduced to a player who has a basic understanding of why it’s taught and how to perform it.

Develop- The player develops the basic fundamentals of the skill and can demonstrate it to others.

Comp- A competitive skill is one that has been learned and can be repeated without thought by the player.

Refine- A refined skill can be executed at will in a game and with variations if dictated by the in-game situation that the player recognizes and reacts to.

Maintain- Once a skill has been refined it must be maintained at an appropriate level through specific training and repeated in-game action.

At every stage of the LTPDM a player needs to develop stage appropriate capabilities in the following areas: Technical, Tactical, and Physical skills before progressing. This will ensure every player is held to the same standard throughout the LTPDM program.
