The purpose of the Angels is to provide a competitive level of ball, play with quality players, be committed to an organization and enjoy traveling to other communities and represent the Angels to the highest level.

Rick formed the Port Perry Angels in 1993 with 1 team. Currently supporting 10 teams from U11 to Senior. Rick took teams throughout his coaching career all over the world winning 3 Eastern Canadians, 2 National Championships and 7 Ontario Provincials. His teams also medalled at 15 other Easterns & Canadian Championships.
The Port Perry Angels under the direction of Rick, sent four players to play for Team Canada at the Olympics. He had 13 players play for Team Canada and 5 players play for Team Ontario.
In April 2023, Rick Finlay will be inducted into the Scugog Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to the Port Perry Angels.
