The Provincial Women’s Softball Association (PWSA) is pleased to announce the selection of  Chris Jones as Head Coach for U18 Team Ontario girls softball team that will represent Ontario at the 2021 Canada Games in the Niagara region.

Chris has over 30 years of softball experience in both a playing and coaching capacity.   He was a shortstop with the Canadian Men’s National Team for 11 years and has won two world championships and two Pan American Games Gold Medals.   Chris was inducted to the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Over the past number of years Chris has been involved with the Canadian Women’s National Team program.   He is currently a coach for the Canadian Women’s Elite team and is a coach, instructor and advisor for both the Women’s Senior and Junior team programs.

Chris’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the game will be of great benefit for our younger athletes that will be part of the 2021 Team Ontario team.   His next task will be to form a team of assistant and pool coaches and create a program for our athletes to grow, develop and attain success at the 2021 Canada Games.

Upcoming this summer, PWSA will be holding a number of Team Ontario ID/Combine Camps throughout the province.   These camps will be open to athletes born in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Details will be posted on our website and Social Media channels once we have more information.
